Here in Oscoda County we are very community oriented. Below is some information and a list of some local clubs and organizations that are active in our area.


Luzerne American Legion Post #162

The Luzerne American Legion Post 162 is here to support and serve the area veterans, active duty military personnel as well as supporting local schools, charities and various other community activities. The Post has several scheduled events during the year, including fish fries, pig roasts, a children’s Christmas party, and Easter egg hunt. We are the only local veterans organization to proudly display our own M48 Sherman model battle tank, a true symbol of American pride and patriotism. Comins Eagles #3544 Aeires and Auxiliary

Support the community, sponsor scholarships to high school seniors planning on college. The Fraternal Order of Eagles uphold and nourish the values of home, family and community. We help raise money for our communities…we are the Eagles and we are “People Helping People.” Contact information 989-848-5475.




Fairview/Comins Lions Club

The Fairview/Comins Lion’s Club sponsors many community projects and has a very active membership. They meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Lions Den. For more information they can be contacted at P.O. Box 31, Fairview Michigan 48621 or call 989-848-2147.




Knights of Columbus

Our Lady of the Woods Shrine Council # 7329 and St. Mary’s Assembly #2371 the Council hosts fundraisers and events to raise money for local and international charities, council meetings, first Monday of each Month, and Assembly meets fourth Monday of each month contact number 989-826-3017.




Mio Lions Club

Mio Lions Club has been serving the community for several years, the club has dedicated volunteers who are willing to give up their time for community projects. Mio Masonic Lodge 596

Mio Masonic Lodge 596, meets the first Wednesday of each month with a dinner at 6:00 P.M. and lodge at 7:30 P.M. for further information contact 989-856-6419.




Mio Moose Lodge #1035 and Chapter #68

The Mio Moose Lodge #1035 is comprised of two distinct entities, the men are members of the Loyal Order of the Moose (LOOM) the women chapter #68 are members of the Women of the Moose (WOTM). These two Fraternal organizations have consistently supported and shared their time, talents and treasures with local charitable works such as “Youth Hunter Safety Program”, local school “Youth Awareness” & Speakers Bureau, and consistently participating in fund raising efforts for such organizations such as local fire and EMS departments as well as adopting a number of families in need during the holiday seasons and hosting a Children’s Christmas Party for 1 to 10 year olds. Oscoda County Shriners Club

Oscoda County Shriners Club always working to support the children in their local area. Last year we sent 30 children to the Shrine Circus. VFW Post 4126

The Mio VFW is a service organization active for Veterans. Schedule of events include monthly meetings the first Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. contact number 989-826-1253 or 989-826-3456.
